Fertilizer Performance of a Digestate from Swine Wastewater as Synthetic Nitrogen Substitute in Maize Cultivation: Physiological Growth and Yield Responses

چکیده

Nitrogen (N) is the primary nutrient required for plant growth. During last few decades, there has been extensive use of synthetic N-containing fertilizers in agriculture, resulting increased environmental pollution. In this study, feasibility replacing N with biofertilizer maize cultivation was investigated. A liquid (digestate obtained from anaerobic digestion swine wastewater) and applied to large plots as a total (100%) or partial (50%) substitute fertilizer. Moreover, most efficient fertilization mode, i.e., basal versus foliar application, studied. Physiological growth indices, leaf nutritional status, grain yield were assessed each biofertilization treatment compared conventional minerals. Compared treatment, substitution by (basal application) did not affect parameters maize; other treatments usually resulted lower rates yields, although statistically significant (p ≥ 0.05). No difference observed among contents N, P, K, Mg leaves. Generally, highest means Fe, Ca, Cu, Zn, Mn leaves after in-row broadcast application digestate effect Fe < The mode have any on either nutrients. data show that under specific conditions mineral best strategy minimizing chemicals without penalties.

Growth and yield responses of two forage sorghum cultivars to different nitrogen fertilizer rates

In order to evaluate the impact of different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer on growth and yield of two forage sorghum cultivars, a 2-year field experiment was carried out at the College of Agriculture, Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran during 2010 and 2011 growing seasons. Two factorial experiments were carried out in randomized block design with three replicates, in which the treatments included...

Agro- physiological responses of Carthamus tinctorius L. to sources of nitrogen fertilizer and organic manure

Excessive consumption of nitrogen (N) to enhance production, which may lead to environmental pollution. While sustainable production is threatened due to low soil fertility and organic matter. This study was carried out as a factorial experiment in the randomized complete block design and three replications at the research field of the University of Jiroft in 2018-2019. The present study invest...

Effect of nitrogen fertilizer on growth, quality and yield of Mrenda (Corchorus olitorius) morphotypes in Kenya

Production of Mrenda (Corchorus olitorius) in Kenya has been low due to various reasons, such as poor agronomic practices like incorrect fertilizer rates. Observations from the Mrenda growing areas showed that there is high unmet demand for crop in local market and even for export. This is due to yields being low, 2-4 tons/ha as compared to expected yield of 5-8 tons/ha. Therefore, the main obj...

Nitrogen Fertilizer Effects on Soybean Growth, Yield, and Seed Composition

While previous research has been contradictory, potential grain yield responses and seed protein increases have led to con tinuing interest in N fertilizer application to soybean (Glycine max (L.) Treatments included a factorial a...
